Development of Chiral Transition Metal complexes and assessment of their Therapeutic Properties
Metal ions play crucial roles in physiological processes and offer much scope for innovative drug design. In particular transition metal complexes present a wide variety of coordination spheres, ligand designs, oxidation states, and redox potentials, giving the ability to systematically alter the kinetic and thermodynamic properties of the complexes toward biological receptors. In this regard development of new transition metal based therapeutic compounds with higher stability, lesser toxicity and higher bioavailability is the need of the hour and hence will be attempted by our group. |
