NHC-complexes as fluorescent / luminescent materials

NHC-complexes are not onlyvery apparent in the field of catalysis and biomedical applications; are also equally bright as fluorescent materials. NHC complexes of non-typical transition metals such as mercury(II) and silver(I) have emerged as attractive scaffolds as fluorescent materials. There is ample scope to explore these complexes as fluorescent materials as they possess d10-d10 closed shell interactions. Our focus is to investigate thepotential application of the synthesized compounds as luminescent materials and emittersin phosphorescent organic light-emitting devices.
